Press Release - September 22, 2020
Global's Vincent Nadeau-Morissette and Avantis Coopérative join forces to acquire IEL's agricultural division
At a press conference, Avantis Coopérative and Global's Vincent Nadeau-Morissette announced the acquisition of IEL's agricultural division, IEL Technologie Agricole. To enable business partners, employees, agricultural producer members, and customers to attend while respecting current sanitary guidelines, the meeting was webcast.
IEL Technologie Agricole offers cutting-edge technology in farm building control via the Maximus system, as well as complete equipment services for hog, dairy, and poultry farm buildings throughout Quebec. It boasts a team of nearly 40 employees and a strong network of retailers in the dairy sector.
Located in Ste-Claire in the Bellechasse region, this acquisition strengthens jobs in the region while ensuring the development of a leader in farm equipment and on-farm technology, serving local agricultural producers.
For Denis Lévesque, President of Avantis Coopérative, "this partnership extends the value chain in the animal production sector, which accounts for 50% of our cooperative's sales. It also enables us to secure our needs for state-of-the-art farm equipment, while optimizing the services offered to our customers, for the benefit of our 2,500 agricultural producer members".
For his part, Mr. Nadeau-Morissette emphasized that "this partnership enables us to associate with a major player in the agricultural industry, with a strong presence in animal production, particularly in hog and poultry farming. For my company Global, it also ensures the continuity of sales operations carried out over the past two years in the hog sector, while consolidating our offer for turnkey projects in the hog and poultry sectors".
New brand image
The press conference also provided an opportunity to unveil IEL Technologie Agricole's new brand image, which will officially take off on September 14.
Inspired by IEL Technologie Agricole's roots, the new image is simple and modern, with colors that reflect agriculture, technology, and confidence. The intersecting horizontal and vertical lines refer to cutting-edge technology, solidity, and precision.
